Former MP Ibrahim Rasheed says political leadership quality ‘non-existent’ in Maldives
Politics ·
Former Member of Parliament for Maafannu Mid District Ibrahim Rasheed (Bonda) has said that there is no quality in leadership in running political parties in the Maldives currently. Speaking on the “Dhivehinge Bin Dhivehinatho” programme on Raajje TV, Bonda said that the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), which started first, is no longer what it was. He criticized the MDP leadership for forgetting members who joined the People’s National Congress (PNC) and for sitting together with PNC leaders on the same bench. Bonda said that such actions send a very bad message to citizens, making the public feel that nothing is happening and that the government is running well. He also warned that if the Maldives continues in this manner, many different groups will be settled in the country without Maldivians knowing.
