Former Villa Air MD Rilwan Sharif Passes Away

Rilwan Sharif, the former Managing Director of Villa Air, has passed away. He was undergoing treatment for a stroke he suffered eight months ago. Rilwan, who held a Master of Business Administration in International Business/Management from RMIT University in Melbourne, served as Villa Air's Managing Director for long periods since 2011, playing a key role in the airline's management and development. He also held several high positions in government companies and ministries, including Chairman of Dhiraagu, State Minister and Deputy Minister at the Finance Ministry, and Director of the Maldives Stock Exchange.
