Former WAMCO Deputy Managing Director to Take Role at Maldives Post Limited

Shaheed Ibrahim, the former Deputy Managing Director of Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO), has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Maldives Post Limited and is expected to assume the role of Deputy Managing Director. The Privatization and Corporatization Board announced Shaheed’s appointment on Sunday. A source close to the matter revealed that he will be formally appointed during the Board of Directors meeting scheduled for Monday. Shaheed, who previously served as WAMCO’s Deputy Managing Director for eight months before being dismissed without explanation, has a long background in the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) and played a key role in the rise of the current government. Despite his abrupt removal from WAMCO, he has now been offered a senior position at Maldives Post Limited.
