Friday Sermon: Islam is the secret to our dignity; organise life according to Islamic principles

Local News ·
The Friday sermon today reminded worshippers that the secret to our dignity is the religion of Islam, and that we should organise our lives according to Islamic principles. The sermon, delivered at the Islamic Centre, was dedicated to the blessings of the religion of Islam. It said that the success of both worlds is tied to the lofty principles of Islam, describing it as a religion that contains all the guidance needed for human success. The sermon noted that there is nothing in the religion that distances a person from noble morals and good deeds. According to the sermon, a true Muslim is someone who does not desire any religion other than Islam, no matter what sacrifice is required or what harm comes their way. Even in the face of any trial, a true Muslim remains steadfast in their religion and creed. The sermon cited the life of Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) as an example, describing how the disbelievers subjected him to extreme torture. Large stones were placed on his chest and he was dragged across the hot ground of Makkah in an attempt to force him to abandon Islam. Despite this, he remained steadfast, repeatedly proclaiming that Allah is One. The sermon also urged remembrance of the companions of the Prophet who protected the religion and spread the call of Islam with their wealth and lives, noting that hundreds of them were martyred happily on the battlefields. The sermon said that Allah has granted Muslims honour and prestige through Islam, describing the religion as the secret to our dignity. It stated that the basis of the superiority and sovereignty Muslims enjoy over other nations is the religion of Islam. It also said that whenever Muslims fully follow Islam and hold firmly to the religion, Allah elevates their rank. However, when they become negligent and distance themselves from the religion, they become weak and their enemies gain power over them. The sermon called on Muslims to thank Allah for the great blessing of Islam, to demonstrate the beautiful qualities of the religion through words and deeds, and to remain steadfast on its lofty principles. It also urged that life at home, in the markets and in gatherings be organised according to Islamic principles, and advised that hearts should find happiness through the light of this noble religion, as Allah has commanded.
