Friday Sermon Urges Strengthening Family Ties to Build a Strong Society

Local News ·
The Friday Khutbah delivered across the country today under the topic 'Importance of Strengthening Family Ties' has highlighted the decline in societal moral standards and the breaking up of families as major concerns. The sermon stated that a major reason for these issues is the upbringing and education given to children, and called upon parents to teach their children to maintain religious connections and kinship ties, and to set a good example practically. Since human society emerges from families, the Khutbah emphasised that a strong society can only be built when families are made strong. The Khutbah noted that although every person is born into this world with innate purity, a child grows up based on the upbringing and education provided by their parents. While raising young children, besides teaching them religious matters, parents must teach them respect and obedience towards their parents, identify close relatives, and instruct them to maintain kinship ties. Highlighting that the most significant relationship in Islam is kinship, the Khutbah stated that maintaining this relationship leads to abundant sustenance in this world and blessings in lifespan, and that severing kinship ties is a major sin that prevents entry into Paradise, as revealed in the Hadiths of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The Khutbah also reminded that besides providing material things for children, encouraging them to perform prayers according to Islamic teachings is the duty of parents, and the best result is achieved when parents themselves set a good example.
