Minister of Social and Family Development Dr Aishath Shiham has announced the launch of five key government programmes aimed at strengthening social security and healthcare for vulnerable citizens. The initiatives were inaugurated ahead of the new year on 31 December. Dr Shiham emphasized that a society's civilization is measured by how it cares for its poorest and most vulnerable members. She highlighted that President Muizzu’s social policy is rooted in this principle, focusing on compassion and national unity. The programmes aim to provide financial and social benefits to citizens living in poverty, single parents, and families without caregivers, improving their overall quality of life. The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing living conditions and ensuring social security for all.
