Government Plans Concessional Loan Days for Small Businesses

The Maldivian government is set to introduce special concessional loan days tailored for small businesses in 2026 and 2027. Minister Saeed emphasized that these loan days will offer significant support to entrepreneurs and enhance economic vibrancy. The move follows discussions between President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and small business leaders earlier this month, where concerns about financial accessibility were raised. The government has assured that measures to address taxation challenges and streamline financial processes will be implemented starting January next year.
