Government Proposes Merging Presidential and Parliamentary Elections
Politics ·
The government has proposed a bill to combine the presidential and parliamentary elections into a single event, aiming to streamline the electoral process and reduce costs. The bill, presented by Ibrahim Falah, the leader of the Parliamentary Group and a member of the Ingress Development Committee, suggests running both elections simultaneously every five years. This initiative seeks to eliminate redundancy and ensure a more efficient electoral system. Additionally, the bill includes amendments to the term duration of the parliament, setting it to end on December 1, 2028. The proposal underscores the government's commitment to refining the electoral framework and addressing procedural inefficiencies.
