Hafeeza Abdul-Sattar Named Staff of the Year at PSM News Ninth Anniversary

Public Service Media (PSM) celebrated the ninth anniversary of its news and current affairs channel with an annual awards ceremony, honoring employees for professional excellence across multiple categories.
Minister of Arts, Culture and Heritage Heena Waleed attended as the chief guest. The event was also attended by PSM Managing Director Ahmed Shakeeb, Chairperson Aminath Namza, and Executive Director of News and Current Affairs Hussain Ameen Naseer.
During the ceremony, Managing Director Ahmed Shakeeb emphasized that while PSM News has operated for nine years, it draws upon a broader institutional legacy spanning nearly five decades. Shakeeb credited the organization's growth to strong interdepartmental teamwork and collaboration, noting that the network is actively working to develop new talent within the Maldivian media sector as it approaches its tenth anniversary next year.
Senior Editor Hafeeza Abdul-Sattar emerged as the night's top honoree, securing both the Staff of the Year and Best News Editor awards. Other major recognitions included Senior Editor Ahmed Rilwan for Best News Presenter and Moosa Mathloob for Best Journalist.
Saaid Ahmed earned dual awards for Attendance and Best Sports Journalist, while technical excellence was recognized through awards given to Shuhaan (Best Video Editor), Shaayad Mohamed Didi (Best Cameraman), Jalwaan Jameel (Best Photographer), and Hussain Ibrahim (Best On-Air Operator).
Further accolades were presented to Fathimath Shiyaza for Best News Producer and Mariyam Wafa for Best On-Camera Report. Ahmed Shafiu received multiple awards for his work in documentaries and program production, while Aishath Neeza was named Best Secretary and Ahmed Zooshan Best Social Media Content Creator.
In a moment of special recognition, the organization honored Shaayad Mohamed Didi for his enduring commitment to the network, marking over 20 years of service as a cameraman at PSM.
