The Maldives Hajj Corporation has completed final preparations to welcome this year's pilgrims to Makkah, securing a dedicated facility to ensure a seamless spiritual journey for the national quota of 1,000 travelers. All Maldivian pilgrims will be housed at the Al Balad At Tayyib Ajiyad Hotel. The twelve-story facility, featuring 355 rooms, serves as a centralized hub for administrative, medical, and religious support. By consolidating services in one location, the Corporation aims to provide maximum convenience and comfort for those undertaking the pilgrimage. The hotel is equipped with a comprehensive suite of facilities, including the Hajj Corporation and Hajj Mission offices, a 24-hour help desk, and a fully equipped medical clinic. For communal and spiritual needs, the premises include a mosque and a conference hall. Catering is managed through three on-site restaurants and a full-service kitchen, while internal transport is facilitated by an expanded fleet of buggies. Following feedback from the previous Ramadan Umrah, the Corporation and property owners implemented significant upgrades. Abdulla Muaz, Head of Marketing and Public Relations, confirmed that refurbishments—including new carpeting in all guest rooms—are nearly complete. Each room has been outfitted with essential amenities such as refrigerators, water dispensers, and hot water facilities, with clear signage installed to assist pilgrims with navigation. Safety and security remain top priorities. All pilgrims will be issued Nusuk identification cards, which must be worn at all times. Additionally, the Mutawwif Rawaf of Makkah is collaborating with authorities to enhance arrangements at Mina and Arafat, where pilgrims will reside in tents during the most critical phase of the Hajj. The Maldives Hajj Mission recently conducted a thorough inspection of the hotel, verifying that catering, health services, and room preparations meet both Saudi Arabian standards and the specific requirements of Maldivian citizens. With all systems verified, pilgrims are expected to begin arriving in Makkah this Friday, where they will also have access to scheduled religious sessions for spiritual guidance.
