Hamas Confirms Death of Iconic Spokesperson Abu Ubaida and Senior Commanders in Israeli Strikes

International ·
Hamas has confirmed the death of its iconic wartime spokesperson, Abu Ubaida, along with several senior military commanders during Israel’s two-year war on Gaza. In a recorded statement on Monday, the Qassam Brigades, Hamas’ armed wing, disclosed that Abu Ubaida, whose real name was Hudhayfah Abdullah al-Kahlout, was killed in the conflict. Known for his masked appearances and powerful messages, Abu Ubaida became the face of Hamas' resistance during the war. The group also announced the deaths of Mohammed Sinwar, chief of staff of the Qassam Brigades and brother of Hamas’ political chief Yahya Sinwar, Hakam al-Issa, a key figure in training and strategic planning, and Raed Saad, head of Hamas’ weapons manufacturing division. Hamas described these losses as a testament to the heavy toll paid by its leadership but vowed that the resistance would not weaken. The Israeli strikes have continued to target Hamas leadership and infrastructure, escalating tensions in the region.
