The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has entered into a formal partnership with Public Service Media (PSM) to support the upcoming Asia Media Summit. The agreement, signed by PSM Managing Director Ahmed Shakeeb and HDC’s Acting Director for Corporate Social Responsibility Hussain Shaheed, outlines a collaboration to extend the summit's impact beyond the conference halls.
Under the terms of the agreement, HDC will facilitate a series of special activities on Kudagiri following the conclusion of the summit. A central feature of this partnership is a coral planting initiative designed to promote environmental conservation. Ahmed Shakeeb emphasized that the coral restoration project serves as a tangible demonstration of the Maldives' commitment to global sustainability goals.
Beyond environmental efforts, the partnership aims to leverage the international visibility of the event. Hussain Shaheed noted that the summit will attract global media attention to Kudagiri, providing a strategic promotional platform for the island and its development potential.
The Asia Media Summit, organized by the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD), is a premier annual event for the broadcasting industry. This year's summit will be held from May 11 to 14 at the Villa Nautica Resort. The schedule begins with five pre-summit workshops on May 11, followed by the official opening ceremony on May 12.
PSM is currently finalizing preparations to welcome approximately 200 delegates from across the Asia-Pacific region. By integrating environmental action with professional discourse, the event seeks to highlight the intersection of media leadership and ecological responsibility in a climate-vulnerable nation.
