HDC Takes Over Management of 704 Hulhumalé Phase I Flats

Politics ·
The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has formally assumed administrative and operational control of 704 residential flats in Hulhumalé's Phase I. The transfer of duties was cemented through an agreement signed with the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure on March 24. The corporation is now responsible for the comprehensive repair, maintenance, and oversight of the housing units. In a public statement, HDC advised residents to direct all facility-related concerns to its offices to ensure the efficient resolution of structural and operational issues. "We are issuing a public notification advising all concerned parties to collaborate with our corporation, effective immediately, to resolve any maintenance issues that may arise within the 704 flats," the statement noted. This integration significantly expands HDC's real estate management portfolio in Hulhumalé. The corporation already oversees major residential zones in the island city's second phase, including the large-scale Hiyaa and Vinares housing complexes. The addition of the Phase I flats consolidates HDC's role as a primary manager of social and public housing assets in the greater Malé region.
