HDC Warns Public to Avoid Restricted Roadwork Zones in Hulhumalé
Politics ·
The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has issued an urgent advisory to the public, warning residents and commuters to stay clear of closed-off roadwork areas throughout Hulhumalé.
In a formal statement, the corporation explained that road repairs are being executed in strategic phases. This phased approach is designed to minimize daily disruptions for residents while ensuring that essential infrastructure upgrades are completed efficiently.
To safeguard the public and expedite the construction process, HDC has implemented temporary road closures. The corporation emphasizes that these restrictions are critical safety measures. Residents are strongly advised to adhere to all posted traffic signs and strictly avoid entering restricted zones to prevent accidents and project delays.
The ongoing development project aims to significantly improve road quality and resolve long-standing transportation challenges within the city. While the improvements will offer long-term benefits to mobility, HDC apologized for the temporary inconvenience caused by the current closures.
Beyond the maintenance of existing thoroughfares, HDC is also finalizing road networks connecting the Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) flats in Hulhumalé Phase II. According to the corporation, the majority of the work in this specific sector is already complete, marking a significant step toward enhancing connectivity for residents of the Phase II housing developments.
