Hiya Towers' Waste Issues Highlighted by HDC Officials

Following concerns raised on social media, Housing Development Corporation (HDC) officials have taken action to clean up waste accumulating around the Hiya Towers. Images shared online showed large furniture items, garbage bags, and other debris piled up in the corridor areas of the towers. According to HDC, waste removal services have been initiated, but officials emphasized the need for residents to take responsibility for proper waste disposal. HDC has also warned that those caught illegally dumping waste will face penalties. In addition, the Call and Pickup Service (CAPS) operated by WAMCO has been introduced to facilitate easier waste collection from the area. The issue of improper waste disposal in high-rise buildings has become a recurring problem, with HDC urging residents to maintain cleanliness and respect for shared spaces.
