Housing Minister Urges Youth to Embrace National Service Spirit
Education ·
Minister of Housing, Property and Infrastructure Dr. Abdulla Muthalib has stated that a country progresses based on the extent to which the youth are willing to serve the nation. The Minister made these remarks while addressing the guests at the graduation ceremony of the Maldives National University. He stated that after obtaining education, what should follow is the spirit of serving the nation, noting that people going to offices with the sole purpose of performing their duties can be seen, highlighting that this happens due to a lack of the spirit of serving the nation. The Minister stated that the service provided to citizens must be sincere service, and even if working hours have ended, if a citizen requires service, it should be considered part of every employee's duty to provide that service. He expressed hope that students will become those whom the parents and the nation desire along with the degree they obtained, and that they will work towards achieving the development needed by the citizens. Furthermore, the Minister urged them to reduce time spent on social media and always engage in productive work.
