It will have seating for 1,500 spectators. Vice President of Maldives Aquatics, Ismail Ali, stated that the project aims to be completed by December 2026. The primary supporter of the project is the Alifulhu Thoothu Foundation. The complex is expected to provide modern facilities for the public and athletes, and enable the Maldives to host international competitions.
