Hulhumale' Burials Suspended as Graves Fill with Water

The Male' City Council has announced the temporary suspension of burials at the Hulhumale' cemetery. The decision was prompted by grave diggers encountering 8 to 9 inches of water when digging new graves. As a result, funeral services will be relocated to the Male' cemetery until the issue is resolved. The council noted that similar suspensions have occurred during past rainy seasons due to water accumulation in the cemetery grounds.
