Human-like Jawbone Found Washed Ashore in Thaa Atoll
Local News ·
A possible human jawbone has been discovered on the shores of Kandufushi, an uninhabited island in Thaa Atoll. The bone was found today by a group travelling to the island, who reported the find to the police. Police have stated that they cannot yet confirm whether the jawbone is human or animal, and further investigations are underway. The discovery comes over a year after the last reported missing person in the atoll: Ali Mushfiq Mohamed, who jumped from the 'Holhudho Boat' during a fire in April last year and has not been found despite a large-scale search by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF). However, police have not established any link between the bone and that incident.
