Health ·
In connection with World Stroke Day, Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has revealed that one person is brought to the hospital for treatment every 16 hours due to stroke. The hospital has initiated special activities to raise awareness about stroke, including sharing posts and videos on social media. In a video released on X, neurologist Dr. Salman Nizam disclosed the frequency of stroke-related admissions. IGMH emphasized that every minute is crucial, and that the likelihood of a stroke can be identified before it occurs, adding that many strokes can be prevented with timely preventive measures. The hospital urged the public to monitor blood pressure, sugar levels, and stroke risk. Health experts noted that the proportion of strokes is increasing, with young people also highly susceptible, and advised adopting a healthy lifestyle, eating beneficial foods, avoiding bad habits, and staying active.
