Politics ·
An Indian Dornier aircraft and two Indian Coast Guard vessels have arrived in Malé City to participate in the trilateral military exercise 'Dosti.' The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) confirmed the arrival of the fleet, which includes the Indian Coast Guard’s Dornier aircraft, the ICGS Atulya, and the ICGS Vajra, along with Sri Lanka’s SLNS Suranimala. Despite previous concerns from President Mohamed Muizzu’s administration regarding Indian military presence in the Maldives, the government clarified that these assets are in the country specifically for joint military training exercises. The exercise underscores regional cooperation and maritime security efforts among the participating nations.
