The Criminal Court has sentenced Jaishan Saeed, an accomplice of Hassan Mamdhooh (Manday), to 159 years in prison for his role in the fraudulent sale of apartments from K-Park Residences, a condominium under development in Hulhumale’. Jaishan was found guilty of 89 charges, including 44 counts of participating in misappropriation, 41 counts of fraud, three counts of knowingly providing counterfeit documents, and one count of aiding and abetting money laundering. The court ruling stated that Jaishan would have to serve 159 years and 14 days after deducting the time already spent in custody. Meanwhile, Manday, the mastermind behind the fraud, was sentenced to 397 years in prison, the longest prison term ever recorded in the Maldives. The case, which involved doctored documents and multiple fraudulent sales of apartments, shocked the nation and led to significant legal repercussions.
