Kulhudhuffushi City Council is seeking to modernize its urban infrastructure through a potential strategic partnership with Kanadevia, a Japanese utility specialist. The collaboration aims to overhaul the city's utility services and waste management systems, bringing international standards of efficiency and sustainability to the northern hub. These discussions took place in Tokyo during the 3rd G-NETS Summit, an event organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. The summit, themed "Building a New Urban Future Resilient to Climate Change and Disasters," served as the backdrop for Mayor Mohamed Athif and Secretary General Abdulla Adam to engage with Kanadevia representatives on improving public service delivery. In a statement released via social media, the Council emphasized that upgrading utility services is a primary pillar of the city's development plan for the current year.
