MACL, MPS, and MNATS Sign Agreements to Enhance Velana International Airport Crisis Management

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Maldives Police Service (MPS) and the Maldives National Air Traffic Services (MNATS) to strengthen crisis management at Velana International Airport (VIA). The agreements aim to enhance safety and security during emergencies and disasters by outlining roles, responsibilities, and procedures for all parties involved. Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen signed on behalf of MPS, MACL CEO Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed represented MACL, and Ibrahim Thoha acted for MNATS. The agreements will improve disaster management capacity, strengthen communication, and ensure operational efficiency. Commissioner Naveen emphasized the importance of collaboration to ensure airport safety, while CEO Shareef highlighted VIA as a critical national facility, stressing the need for preparedness through institutional cooperation.
