A bill proposing amendments to the Education Act, aimed at facilitating the opportunity for children requiring special assistance and students facing psychological difficulties to receive education from home, has been reviewed by the People’s Majlis. The bill was presented to the Majlis by Dr. Anara Naeem, the government member representing the relevant sector. The first reading of this bill was held on the 26th of last month. According to the submitted bill, a program for providing home-based education is to be initiated based on an assessment conducted considering the physical or psychological condition of a student. Furthermore, the conditions and procedures required for continuing studies under such programs are also outlined in this bill. Government members speaking in the Majlis regarding the bill have highlighted the efforts being undertaken by the government to strengthen the educational system. These members stated that this is a highly beneficial bill aimed at ensuring and protecting the rights of students. Additionally, government members have expressed dissatisfaction with opposition parties creating a distorted perception of the bill and have called upon them not to speak misleadingly when debating important matters directly affecting citizens. Among the additional provisions included in this bill is the clear and detailed delineation of the roles of parents, teachers, and principals in implementing and executing the school education system. Moreover, introducing necessary amendments to resolve challenges arising during the implementation of this law is also a main objective of the bill.
