Maldives and Bangladesh Pledge Stronger Cooperation During UN General Assembly

Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef and Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman met in New York to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation and collaboration during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81). During the high-level talks held on the sidelines of the assembly, Vice President Latheef congratulated Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman on assuming the presidency of the UNGA for its 81st session. He extended official greetings and best wishes from the government and people of the Maldives to their counterparts in Bangladesh. Vice President Latheef emphasized the enduring diplomatic relationship between the two nations, stressing the need to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
