President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has met with a high-level Saudi Arabian business delegation to strengthen economic cooperation between the two nations. The discussions, led by Saudi Deputy Minister for International Relations Sara Al Sayed, focused on expanding investment across multiple sectors including tourism, fisheries, agriculture, and technology. This meeting follows President Muizzu's earlier audience with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during his Hajj pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia. The delegation's presence in Malé represents a concrete step toward implementing the investment cooperation discussed between the leaders. Both parties explored new partnership opportunities in artificial intelligence, information technology, and private-sector development. The Saudi delegation is also participating in the Maldives-Saudi Investment Roundtable, where they will engage directly with Maldivian government agencies and industry leaders. These meetings aim to translate diplomatic discussions into tangible economic partnerships. President Muizzu expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia's longstanding support, noting its significant contribution to the Maldives' socioeconomic development. He specifically thanked the Kingdom for its role in facilitating the completion of Velana International Airport and for sending the high-level delegation. The Saudi representatives conveyed gratitude for the warm welcome extended by the Maldivian government. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing the close, brotherly relations between the two countries.
