President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and a high-level delegation from Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the long-standing bilateral relationship between the two nations. The discussions took place during a courtesy call held at the President’s Office, focusing on mutual cooperation and strategic partnership. The Saudi delegation was led by Yahya Hassan Al-Qahtani, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the Maldives. The meeting served as a platform to review existing ties and explore new avenues for collaboration between the two Islamic nations. During the session, President Muizzu expressed his profound gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He specifically highlighted the Kingdom’s enduring generosity and steadfast cooperation, which have played a critical role in supporting the socioeconomic development of the Maldives. In return, the Saudi delegation expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the President and the Maldivian government. The exchange underscored a shared vision of stability and growth, with both parties acknowledging the historical bonds that link the two countries. The meeting concluded with a mutual pledge to further enhance the 'brotherly relations' between Male' and Riyadh. The discussions were attended by several cabinet ministers and senior officials from the President’s Office, signaling the high priority the administration places on its diplomatic ties with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
