Maldives and UK Strengthen Security Ties to Boost Police Capacity and Training

The Maldives and the United Kingdom have reaffirmed their security partnership, focusing on enhancing the operational capabilities of the Maldives Police Service (MPS). Acting High Commissioner of the United Kingdom to the Maldives, Toff Wahab, met with Police Commissioner Ahmed Mohamed to discuss ongoing cooperation and future institutional development. The meeting served as a strategic platform to review the UK's continued support for the MPS, specifically targeting training, technical assistance, and capacity building. Both parties explored new avenues for collaboration to strengthen professional competencies and improve the overall operational preparedness of the Maldivian police force. Commissioner Ahmed Mohamed expressed gratitude for the longstanding relationship between the MPS and its British counterparts.
