Maldives Budget 2027: National Sovereign Cloud Data Center and Smart Traffic System Announced

Minister of Finance and Public Enterprises Hassan Zareer announced plans to establish a 'National Sovereign Cloud Data Center' and introduce a modern 'Digital Identification System' as part of the proposed state budget for 2027, presented to the People's Majlis. The minister also revealed a 'Smart Traffic Enforcement System' utilizing artificial intelligence to address traffic congestion in Malé, alongside the 'Greater Malé Transport Mobility Plan' to strengthen the transport system. These initiatives aim to advance the country's digital infrastructure and modernize government services.
