Maldives Celebrates 55 Years of Tourism with Launch of 'Visit Maldives Year 2027' Campaign

The Maldives Ministry of Tourism has announced the launch of the 'Visit Maldives Year 2027' campaign, marking 55 years since the inception of tourism in the country. The campaign, initiated under the leadership of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, aims to further promote the Maldives as a premier travel destination globally. The branding activities for the campaign will commence with an invitation for interested parties to submit bids, starting this month. The bidding process will take place on the 23rd of this month at the Ministry of Tourism’s reception at 10:30 AM, with submissions closing at 10:35 AM. The campaign will highlight the unique cultural heritage and natural beauty of the Maldives, showcasing the country’s islands, traditions, and marine life to attract more tourists. The government aims to welcome 2.5 million tourists this year, building on the record-breaking 2.2 million arrivals last year, which contributed USD 5.5 billion to the economy.
