Local News ·
An awareness programme has been conducted to provide guidance and information to guesthouses operating in Hulhumale’. The programme was held on 29 December in collaboration with the Tourist Police and Neighbourhood Police. It aimed to raise awareness among guesthouse operators on preventing tourists from wearing inappropriate clothes on Hulhumale’ beaches. The programme advised guesthouses to inform tourists that wearing bikinis is not permitted on public beaches, noting that incidents related to inappropriate clothing are on the rise. They were also asked to advise tourists to take care of their valuables while at the beach. Additionally, guesthouses were instructed to provide tourists with clear guidance to avoid booking-related issues during the high season and to ensure that all payment-related processes are handled promptly to prevent fraud.
