Maldives Gas Temporarily Reduces Cooking Gas Fill Levels Amid Global Price Rise
Business ·
Maldives Gas Private Limited has announced a temporary reduction in the fill levels of cooking gas cylinders, citing rising global market prices and difficulties in importing gas into the country. The changes, set to take effect from November 7, will see a 10 kg cylinder filled with 7 kg of gas, a 22 kg cylinder with 14 kg, and a 45 kg cylinder with 31 kg. Despite the reduced fill levels, the company has assured customers that the price per kilogram will remain unchanged, with charges based on the actual weight of gas supplied. Maldives Gas also noted that efforts are underway to increase storage capacity in the country, which once completed, will allow for three months' worth of gas storage, providing a long-term solution. The company has apologized for any inconvenience caused to customers.
