Maldives Islamic Bank Expands Reach with New Services in Dhiggaru

World ·
Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has expanded its financial footprint in Meemu Atoll with the official opening of a new Sales Centre and Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in Dhiggaru. The facilities were inaugurated during a ceremony on the island, led by Dhiggaru Council President Ahmed Nishan alongside senior officials from MIB. The move is part of a broader institutional effort to decentralize banking services and bring essential financial tools directly to island communities. For the residents and local businesses of Dhiggaru, the new Sales Centre will provide a dedicated point of contact for a wide range of banking services, reducing the need for travel to larger hubs. Complementing this, the newly installed ATM allows users to perform critical transactions, including the deposit and withdrawal of Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR), providing greater liquidity and convenience for the local economy. According to MIB, the establishment of these facilities is designed to simplify daily banking operations and support the evolving financial requirements of the island's population. By integrating these services, the bank aims to foster greater financial inclusion and support local entrepreneurship through easier access to capital and account management. This expansion aligns with MIB's long-term national strategy to enhance the accessibility and convenience of its services. The bank continues to establish a network of service centres and ATMs throughout the Maldives, ensuring that the benefits of modern banking are available to residents regardless of their geographical location.
