Politics ·
A three-day training program focusing on design and data sharing has launched to enhance connectivity and efficiency across government digital services. The workshop, organized jointly by the National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT) and the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), began on Sunday with strong emphasis on interoperability and standardization. Minister of State for Homeland Security and Technology Dr Mohamed Kinanath emphasized the initiative's importance in strengthening government service capabilities during an interview with PSM News. He noted such training programs are crucial for expanding the reach and effectiveness of digital governance. The program aims to equip employees from multiple government agencies and private sector professionals with knowledge to seamlessly integrate digital services. Participants will learn about international standards promoted by ITU for digitizing government operations and how to effectively implement the 'GovStack' framework for service delivery. The workshop also serves as a platform for government agencies to showcase their digital transformation progress, reinforcing the Maldives' ongoing commitment to national digitization efforts. This collaboration represents another step toward creating more connected and efficient public services through improved data sharing protocols and standardized digital frameworks.
