The Maldivian delegation included Minister of Home Affairs, Labour and Technology Alfazil Ali Ihshan, President of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Ustadh Adam Shamil, and Controller General of Immigration Commissioner of Police (Retired) Ahmed Fasih. The ACC stated that more than 250 delegates from 46 member and observer countries of the OIC and eight international organizations participated. The main objective was to enhance cooperation among OIC countries and related institutions in stopping corruption. Discussions were held on strengthening connections between law enforcement agencies, exchanging information, and using modern technology. A major focus was the 'Mecca Al-Mukarramah Convention' signed in 2023, which facilitates information exchange, mutual assistance, and joint work in investigating corruption cases. The ACC stated that this meeting will further advance Maldives' efforts to strengthen connections with international institutions in combating corruption and to establish a transparent and clean system.
