Maldives Police Launch Drug Operation in Thinadhoo City

The Maldives Police Service has launched a drug-related operation in Thinadhoo City, carried out by the Counter Narcotics Department. Police stated that further information would be revealed later. The operation is part of broader efforts to stop drugs in the country, including intercepting those who bring drugs into the Maldives and conducting their business. Similar operations have been conducted in other parts of the country, including a recent operation in Malé City this month, where a large number of drug distribution networks were seized. To strengthen anti-drug efforts, significant amendments have been made to the law, including a provision that those who bring drugs into the country can be sentenced to death.
