Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development, Transport and Trade, is leading a strategic promotional campaign at the 10th China-South Asia Expo (CSAE). The event, held at the Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Centre through June 16, aims to strengthen the Maldives' presence in one of Asia's most influential travel markets.
The Maldivian delegation includes government officials and prominent private-sector exhibitors, including MIFCO, Authentic Maldives, LoveMe, Anbalange, Arena Maldives, and Viva Trips. Together, they are showcasing a comprehensive range of tourism services and local consumer products to thousands of international trade professionals and potential travelers.
At the heart of the Maldives pavilion, immersive branding and vibrant visuals are designed to captivate visitors. To ensure accessibility for the local audience, promotional materials have been provided in Mandarin, highlighting everything from high-end luxury resorts and boutique retreats to marine adventures and authentic cultural experiences. Interactive displays further emphasize the archipelago's natural beauty and hospitality.
“The China-South Asia Expo provides an excellent opportunity to engage directly with consumers and industry partners from one of our most important regions,” stated Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of VMC.
China remains a critical source market for the Maldives' tourism-dependent economy. Participation in the CSAE is a key component of VMC’s broader strategy to maintain high visibility and drive growth across Asia’s primary outbound travel corridors. By engaging directly with media and industry stakeholders, the Maldives seeks to reinforce its global reputation as a versatile and premier holiday destination.
The expo serves as a vital networking hub, allowing the Maldives to diversify its appeal beyond traditional luxury tourism and attract a broader spectrum of South Asian and Chinese travelers looking for unique island experiences.
