Maldives Welcomes US-Iran Agreement to Reduce Regional Tensions and Ensure Navigation

The Government of Maldives has officially welcomed a new memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, viewing the agreement as a critical step toward easing regional tensions and enhancing global security.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the agreement addresses several outstanding disputes between Washington and Tehran. A primary focus of the memorandum is the implementation of measures to ensure the freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital maritime artery for global trade and energy supplies.
The Maldivian government described the diplomatic breakthrough as an important milestone for promoting peace and stability, not only within the immediate region but on a broader international scale.
