Maldives Women’s Handball Team Falls to Nepal in Bronze Medal Match at IHF Nations Trophy 2026

The Maldives national women's handball team was defeated in the bronze medal match of the IHF Nations Trophy 2026, losing 15–27 to Nepal. The tournament, held in Bangladesh, featured four nations competing in a round-robin format followed by final and bronze medal playoffs. The Maldives lost all three group stage matches: 8–40 to India, 18–24 to Nepal, and 20–33 to Bangladesh. In the bronze medal decider, the team once again faced Nepal and lost 15–27, ending the campaign without a win. The team departed for Bangladesh on the 17th of the month to participate in the tournament.
