Maldivian Airlines has reported strong demand for its seasonal international flights to Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok during the recent holiday period. The national airline increases flight frequencies annually during school holidays, aiming to provide more travel opportunities for the public both within the Maldives and abroad. This year, the seasonal flights to Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok operated at high capacity, with most flights running full. Introduced to cater to peak holiday demand, these services attracted significant interest from Maldivian travelers. Over 2,120 passengers traveled on the Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok routes during the season, highlighting the growing popularity of regional destinations for short holidays, business travel, and year-end trips. Maldivian also increased flights to Trivandrum, Cochin, and Jeddah to accommodate demand on other international routes. Additionally, the airline operated more than 500 extra domestic flights from mid-December to January to manage increased passenger numbers. Looking ahead, Maldivian plans to continue introducing seasonal services and expanding its international, domestic, and seaplane operations to meet future travel needs.
