The Ambassador of the Maldives to Japan, Ahmed Mahloof, has officially presented his Letters of Credence to Emperor Naruhito during a formal ceremony at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. During the exchange, Emperor Naruhito welcomed Ambassador Mahloof to Japan, offering congratulations on his appointment and expressing his hopes for the Ambassador's success in his new diplomatic role. In response, Ambassador Mahloof conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and the people of the Maldives. He reaffirmed the Maldives' commitment to deepening bilateral relations and enhancing close cooperation between the two nations, emphasizing the importance of the existing partnership. The diplomatic bond between the Maldives and Japan is long-standing, with formal relations established on November 14, 1967. This milestone marks a period of steady growth in cooperation, with both nations preparing to celebrate the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic ties next year. Ambassador Mahloof was supported at the ceremony by a delegation from the Maldives Embassy in Japan, including Deputy Ambassador Ahmed Adil and Second Secretaries Hawwa Samha, Aminath Raziyya, and Ashraf Ali.
