The Ministry of Economic Development, Transport and Trade has opened applications for Maldivian enterprises to participate in the fourth India-Asia Business Conclave 2026 and the accompanying Eco-Sustainable Expo. Scheduled for July 31 to August 1 in Hyderabad, India, the event aims to bridge the gap between local entrepreneurs and the broader Asian market. Organized by the Global India Business Forum, the conclave is a premier regional commerce hub designed for international exchange. This year's exhibition is expected to host more than 500 Indian enterprises, alongside policymakers, government partners, and industry leaders from over 20 Asian nations, providing a significant stage for Maldivian businesses to gain international visibility. The Ministry noted that participants will engage in high-level networking sessions, trade and investment discussions, and sector-specific panel debates. These activities offer a direct line of communication for Maldivian entrepreneurs to connect with Indian manufacturers, technology providers, and investors to explore strategic partnerships and joint venture opportunities. Beyond networking, the expo serves as a showcase for Maldivian products and services. The event specifically targets high-growth sectors that are critical to the Maldives' economy, including tourism, hospitality, infrastructure, and renewable energy. Additional focus will be placed on food processing, healthcare, and education, while offering collaboration avenues in logistics, manufacturing, and sustainable development. By participating in this conclave, Maldivian businesses can diversify their export markets and integrate more deeply into the regional supply chain. The government's initiative reflects a broader strategy to enhance trade relations with India and promote sustainable economic growth through international cooperation.
