Maldivian Film ‘Kamanaa’ Wins Three Awards at Karnataka International Film Festival

The Maldivian feature film ‘Kamanaa,’ released in August last year, has secured three major awards at the 5th Karnataka International Movie Festival (KIFF). The annual North Karnataka Film Festival honored the film in the categories of Best Director, Best Lead Actor, and Best Lead Actress. Directed by Hussain Munawwar and written by Mahdi Ahmed, the film tells a poignant story that has resonated with audiences both locally and internationally. Hussain expressed pride in the film’s achievement, dedicating the success to the entire team, including producer Ali Shaniz Mohamed, the music team, and the technical crew. The film stars Mariyam Azza, Yoosuf Shafeeu, and Aiminath Rashfa in lead roles, with supporting performances by Mohamed Manik, Ahmed Nimal, Mohamed Rasheed, and Nathasha Jaleel. The Karnataka International Movie Festival, organized by the Nava Karnataka Film Academy, showcases films and documentaries from around the world.
