Maldivian Hajj Mission Arrives in Mecca to Finalize 1447 Pilgrimage Preparations
Health ·
The Maldivian Hajj Mission and the Maldives Hajj Corporation’s advance team have arrived in Saudi Arabia to finalize critical logistics ahead of the 1447 Hajj pilgrimage. The teams are now on the ground in Mecca, ensuring all infrastructure and services are ready before the first wave of pilgrims arrives next month.
For the third consecutive year, Maldivian pilgrims, mission staff, and volunteers will be accommodated at the Al-Balad Al-Thayyib Ajyad Hotel. To ensure centralized support, the hotel will also house the Hajj Mission Mecca Office, the Hajj Corporation’s operational base, and a dedicated health clinic to provide immediate medical assistance to pilgrims.
The advance team is currently engaged in high-level coordination with Saudi authorities and various service agencies. These meetings are focused on verifying the readiness of essential services, including the execution of Hajj rituals, quality of accommodation, and the management of meal services.
Logistical operations are being managed through Rawaf Mina, the primary agent for Maldivian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. Key priorities for the advance team include streamlining airport arrival procedures and managing the distribution of NUSUK cards, which are essential for accessing holy sites.
Maldivian pilgrims are scheduled to begin arriving in Mecca on May 15. A series of coordinated flights are planned for May 15, 17, 18, and 19, marking the start of the spiritual journey for hundreds of citizens.
