Maldivian Hajj Pilgrims to Benefit from Expanded Facilities in Mina Area

Maldivian Hajj pilgrims will return to the same designated area in Mina as last year, but with significantly upgraded facilities designed to improve the pilgrimage experience. The Maldives Hajj Mission has confirmed that final preparations are underway in coordination with the Mecca-based agent, Rawaf Mina.
Mina serves as the critical residential hub where pilgrims spend four days of the Hajj rituals, excluding the Day of Arafat. Officials from the Hajj Mission recently conducted an inspection visit to oversee the progress of the site, ensuring that all logistical arrangements meet the necessary standards for the incoming group.
While the location remains unchanged, this year's preparations feature substantial improvements to sanitation and catering. In a major upgrade to hygiene facilities, the number of available toilets has increased from 20 to over 50 following the construction of a new dedicated toilet building. To ensure greater comfort and privacy, separate sections have been established for men and women.
Dining services have also seen a boost. The mission has expanded the kitchen facilities in Mina and introduced additional support infrastructure to streamline meal preparation. With the construction phase complete, teams are currently transporting essential cooking equipment and supplies into the tents.
The allocation of the Maldivian tent zone is strategically positioned along a main road, which officials say will facilitate easier movement for pilgrims. The location is particularly advantageous for those traveling to Jamarat, the site of the symbolic stoning ritual. To further alleviate the challenges of the heat, shaded pathways leading toward Jamarat will be accessible from specific points near the Maldivian encampment.
By maintaining a familiar location while aggressively upgrading the infrastructure, the Hajj Mission aims to reduce the physical strain on pilgrims, allowing them to focus more fully on the spiritual obligations of their journey.
