Maldivian’s new ATR aircraft delayed, expected in January

Business ·
Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has announced that the delivery of its sixth ATR aircraft has been delayed and is now expected to arrive in January next year. The update was provided by Deputy Managing Director Ali Saleem during a ceremony on Monday. Saleem stated that the new aircraft will be added to the fleet either at the end of this month or within the first month of the coming year. Under the project to replace the airline's Dash-8 aircraft with ATRs, five ATRs have already been brought into service, and efforts are underway to sell the older Dash models. In addition to the ATRs, Maldivian is also preparing for the upcoming holiday and tourism season by increasing foreign homes and digitizing its services. The airline's current fleet includes 27 aircraft, comprising ATRs, Dash 8s, Twin Otters, and long-haul Airbus models.
