Malé Mayor Blames Non-Existent Garage Sales for Traffic Crisis

Local News ·
Malé City Mayor Adham Azim has stated that the traffic problem in Malé City is severe due to the sale of non-existent garages by the city. Speaking at a public meeting held under the name "People's Land, People's Voice," Mayor Azim responded to concerns raised by ordinary citizens, stating that although vehicles used for transportation are being towed daily, no solution has been found for Malé's traffic congestion. After listening to these concerns, Mayor Azim noted that the Malé City Council had sold four lots designated for non-existent garages. He further highlighted that this was the main reason why the traffic problem had worsened. Azim stated that things went wrong at that location because certain individuals committed serious errors in their actions. Azim said that complaints regarding the sale of cars to people for non-existent garages have now been submitted to the police. He emphasized that the police department needs to become stronger and more robust, and that those who committed these crimes must be punished. Mayor Azim pointed out that if offenders are not punished, the issues will not be resolved, noting that the traffic problem remains unsolved for this reason.
