Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Sexually Assaulting Three-Year-Old in Haa Alif Atoll

A person has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexually assaulting a three-year-old child. The person jailed in this case is Muhammad Naish Adam from Hithadhoo, Haa Alif Atoll. It has been proven that he committed sexual acts with the young child involved in this case on various occasions. While Muhammad Naish was handed a 20-year prison sentence, after deducting the period spent in custody, he is required to serve 18 years, seven months and 28 days. To date this year, 232 cases of sexual assault have been reported to the police. Of these, 27 cases were filed last month.
