Man Who Escaped from Hinnavaru Drug Center Arrested Again

A person who escaped from the National Drug Agency (NDA) center in Hinnavaru, Kaafu Atoll, has been arrested again through police efforts. Ahmed Fairish, related to H. Horafushi, was taken to the NDA center in Hinnavaru for treatment after being arrested for repeatedly harassing and causing trouble to people in Malé on Thursday of last week. He was arrested on the 17th of this month because he caused disturbance to his family and neighbors, while a man named Mohamed Saeed was conducting an intervention for alcoholism to get a permanent solution to this matter. He was subjected to alcoholism intervention for 35 hours. He escaped from that center yesterday around midday. According to the police, the effort to find where he was located was successful, and now he is under police supervision. The police also said that he was arrested while staying in Malé. Saeed said that the alcoholism intervention was concluded when he received assurance that relevant authorities would support him in this matter. He also thanked the Home Minister Ali Ihassan for visiting the area where the intervention took place and giving assurances. Saeed has also stated that relevant authorities will look into the matter closely as they are taking action. Relevant parties are taking further measures to ensure public safety and security.
